چکیده

Cooperative transmission is one of key techniques which can improve system capacity and transmit range with limit power in the next-generation communication systems. However, accurate Channel State Information (CSI) is necessary at the destination for coherent detection. Consider a Dual-Hop Amplify-and-Forward (DHAF) Cooperative Communication System (CCS), traditional linear channel estimation method, e.g., Least Square (LS), based assumption of the rich multipath cascaded channel, is robust and simple while at the cost of low spectrum efficiency. Recent channel measurements have shown that the wireless channel exhibits great sparse in some highdimensional space. In this study, we confirmed that cascaded channel exhibits sparse distribution if the two individual channels are sparse by using representative simulation results. Later, we propose an efficient sparse channel estimation method to take advantage of the inherent sparse prior information in DHAF CCS. Simulation results confirm the superiority of our proposed methods over LS-based linear channel estimation method.

Performance Analysis of Dual-Hop Mixed Relaying Networks with N Best-Path Selection over Rayleigh Fading Channel

Cooperative relaying is one of the promising technology which is used to improve coverage and spatial diversity. A new relay strategy, the N Best-Relay Selection scheme is proposed to improve the bandwidth penalty and to increase the spatial diversity by using a sub-optimal allocation for the relay relative distance between the source and destination in a multi-hop cooperative systems. A single...

Power Allocation In Cooperative Relay Channels

This paper concerns power allocation in relay-assisted wireless channels for two-hop transmission. First, the transmitter sends the information to both the relay and receiver parts. Next, in the second hop, the transmitter cooperates with the relay to increase the received signal to noise ratio (SNR), assuming the relay makes use of the Amplify and Forward (AF) strategy. Moreover, it is assumed...

Improved Sparse Channel Estimation for Cooperative Communication Systems

Accurate channel state information (CSI) is necessary at receiver for coherent detection in amplify-and-forward (AF) cooperative communication systems. To estimate the channel, traditional methods, that is, least squares (LS) and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO), are based on assumptions of either dense channel or global sparse channel. However, LS-based linear method neg...

Improved Channel Estimation for DVB-T2 Systems by Utilizing Side Information on OFDM Sparse Channel Estimation

The second generation of digital video broadcasting (DVB-T2) standard utilizes orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system to reduce and to compensate the channel effects by utilizing its estimation. Since wireless channels are inherently sparse, it is possible to utilize sparse representation (SR) methods to estimate the channel. In addition to sparsity feature of the channel, the...

A Simple Amplify-and-Forward Relaying Scheme Based on Clipping and Forwarding for Dual-Hop Transmissions

In this paper, we propose a simple relaying protocol, namely clip-amplify-forward (CAF), for dual-hop transmissions. In the CAF relaying protocol, the received signal at the relay node is clipped firstly and then amplified with a fixed amplification gain before retransmission. Only a hard clipper and a linear amplifier are needed at the relay node, where no channel estimation is needed. Simulat...
